Class Spotlight: Women on Weights

At Riverside Health Fitness Center, we’re always looking for ways to empower our members, and our recent Women on Weights (W.O.W.) pop-up class did just that. Taught by Fitness Specialist Amanda Williams, this class is designed for women of all fitness levels who want to learn weightlifting techniques in a supportive, inclusive environment. From beginners to those with prior experience, W.O.W. helps participants build strength, improve form and boost confidence, all while having fun and gaining the support of other women.

We are thrilled to highlight dedicated RHFC member Sue, who participated in this pop-up session. Sue shared her experience with us, offering insight into why this class is making such an impact. When asked what drew her to the class, Sue said, “I wanted the physical benefits: building stronger muscles for balance, improving cardiovascular health, boosting metabolism for weight loss and increasing bone density.”

The structured yet varied format of the class made a lasting impression. “My favorite part of the class was the structured routine but with a variety of movements and different exercises offered,” Sue explained. By the end of the session, the results were clear, not just in the movements performed, but in the way Sue felt. “I felt a sense of accomplishment and increased energy!”

W.O.W. is now a regularly scheduled class!

Women on Weights isn’t just a workout; it’s a community. Participants encourage one another, celebrate achievements and build confidence alongside the physical gains. The pop-up class was such a hit that we’re excited it is now a regular class on our current schedule, giving more women the opportunity to discover the power of strength training.
